I have same problem too.
Display driver (Intel 620) also had to get uninstalled and ‘automatically updated’ to an early version as I had a code error 43. fernand Khanse Some says in Windows 98 freeware. “Repairing” Edge in settings > Apps > Apps and features seems to fix the issue temporarily, for after a while or a restart the same problem will resurface>.

Cleaning and defragmentation didn’t help. In my office, it deactivates avast and screws avira’s UI a bit. The folder installed or change my accounts.
I have installed these yesterday also, But cannot say I have a problem with them, My computer is running fine. Win 7 x64, i7 4790k, asus z87 pro. No bsod or other problems here.
For now, users with unresponsive devices can use the keyboard shortcut Windows+Ctrl+Shift+B. Good info, works as described, at least on 8.1. Very helpful IF you read and follow all steps.

For the mic, Check Settings > Privacy Microphone and test if “Let apps use my microphone” resolves the issue. Using Windows 8.1 Pro I use System restore, which seems to work. I follow the instructions to Advanced Options. I no longer have & so I am not sure what to recommend for that.

Forgive me, but if you have chosen to pause updates. That is to, in effect, stop them installing until you chose, by actually selecting that.
Why were you confused about updates not installing?
